You asked and we listened. This week we go a bit lighter,
It is just too hot out there for heavy hot food this week some went this way :
Frikadellen, Fleischkuechle, Fleischwuchteln, Pflanzen....every corner of German Speaking Europa has a word for it, and every house has it's own recipe. What it is is a ground pork meat steak. We even grind the meat in house and I make sure it is up to my standards. Served with a colorful German Pasta Salad with a twist. The sweet and horribly mayonnaise drenched stuff that is usually available is only a relativ by name. Ours has a variety of veggies in there and we replace most of the Mayonnaise with Greek yogurt which makes it much lighter and fresher than the usual one. We serve it in our usual big take home box, and as always.wlthe portion will be about 1.5 lbs all over, we throw in one of our home made rolls and if you wish ketchup or one.of our mustards (just tell us which one.
I hope this is an acceptable solution for a hot week like this and at $11 we tried to go easy on your wallets too.
So a good portion of pasta salad, at least two ground meat steaks, a roll and your choice of condiments.
